The short version: checking an address is anonymous, we only get your details if you type them into a form, and we do not sell or share them.

Checking an address

You do not have to give us your name, your email or your phone number to check an address. We do not store the address you type next to anything that identifies you.

To turn an address into a point on the map, the page sends the address you typed to the United States Census Bureau's public address service, and to OpenStreetMap if the Census cannot find it. Those services get the address and nothing else about you.

If you fill in the form

The form asks for your name, your business name, your business address, your email, your phone number, and a few questions about the business. We use those to get back to you about funding, and for nothing else.

Your details go to our own email and to a private spreadsheet only our team can open. We do not sell them, rent them, or trade them. We do not hand them to the City of Madison, the Madison Development Corporation, or any other agency unless you ask us to, or unless you take us on to help with an application, which requires giving your information to that program.

What the website counts

We count how many people open a page, how many check an address, and how many fill in the form, so we know whether any of this is reaching anybody. Those counts record the page, a short label such as which programs matched, and the city your internet connection reports. They do not record your IP address and they do not record the address you typed.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers. The map tiles come from a mapping service, which sees that a map was loaded.

Getting your information removed

Write to michael.zhang@wiscai.com or call 608-469-8668 and ask us to delete what you sent. We will do it and tell you when it is done. You do not have to give a reason.
